Day 2
Seoul’s Timeless Fusion: A Journey Through Tradition and Modernity
Together, you’ll wander through Bukcheon, Seoul’s oldest neighborhoods, where traditional Hanok houses seamlessly blend with the city’s modern rhythm. Feel the heartbeat of both past and present with a visit to the majestic Gyeongbokgung Palace. Enjoy a vibrant street-style lunch at Gwangjang Market before settling in for the night, right in the heart of Seoul’s energetic cityscape.
Day 3
Exploring Seoul’s Vibrant Markets and the Hallyu Phenomenon
The day begins at Gyeongdong Market, Korea’s largest ginseng and medicinal herb market, where the hustle and bustle of local commerce energize the atmosphere. Immerse yourself in Korea’s cultural wave at HiKR GROUND, a space celebrating K-Pop, Hallyu, and digital media art—a must for any fan. For fashion lovers, an optional stop at Dongdaemun Market awaits, where Seoul’s textile and clothing trade has thrived since 1905. Overnight stay in Seoul.
Day 4
Between North and South: A Day in the DMZ
Today takes you to the heart of Korea’s complex past—the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). This narrow strip of land separating North and South Korea tells a powerful story. Your guide, Daniel Thomas Faller, once lived and served here as a Swiss officer with the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission (NNSC). You’ll begin with a deep dive into the Korean War, the Armistice, and its ongoing impact. In the afternoon, explore the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, gaze across the border from Dora Observatory, and visit Camp Greaves—a former U.S. base turned place of reflection. It’s a day of insight, remembrance, and rare perspective. Overnight stay in Seoul.
Day 5
Gyeongju’s Ancient Wonders: Temples, Tombs, and Timeless Skies
The journey through Korea’s rich history continues in Gyeongju, the former capital of the Silla Empire. The day begins with two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Bulguksa Temple, a masterpiece of Silla architecture, and Tumuli Park, where ancient burial mounds rise from the green landscape. Here, more than 11,000 artifacts and royal treasures tell stories of a golden past. Nearby stands Cheomseongdae, East Asia’s oldest observatory. As twilight falls, Anapji Pond offers a magical setting for an evening stroll among illuminated gardens and pavilions. Tonight, tradition lives on with an overnight stay in a Korean Hanok guesthouse.
Day 6
Haeinsa Temple Stay – Nature and place of silence
Around noon we arrive at Haeinsa Temple. The temple is one of the most important legacies of the country’s Buddhist roots and houses the Tripitaka Koreana, the oldest Buddhist scriptures. Located within the Gayasan National Park, it is so well nestled in its surroundings that it gives the impression that the mountain and the temple are one. You will experience the daily life of the temple together with the monks and peek behind the scenes. After an introduction and tea ceremony, we will have dinner together early in the evening. We spend the night in Haeinsa Temple.
Day 7
Busan | South Korea’s gateway to the world
Rise before sunrise for the sacred Yebul ceremony—an unforgettable early morning moment at Haeinsa Temple, where ancient chants and quiet candlelight open the day. After breakfast and a peaceful temple tour, we journey on to Busan. A scenic train ride brings us to South Korea’s vibrant coastal city. By late afternoon, the golden sands of Haeundae Beach invite you to relax, reflect, and watch the city lights begin to sparkle by the sea. Overnight stay Busan.
Day 8
Seaside Sunrises, Fresh Fish & Artistic Alleys
Start your day with a breathtaking sunrise at Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, perched on the rocky coast. Then, immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Jagalchi Fish Market, where you can select your meal straight from the tank and savor it freshly prepared. In the afternoon, explore the colorful, creative alleyways of Gamcheon Culture Village. Conclude with a hands-on cooking workshop led by a chef, diving into the flavors of seafood and authentic local cuisine. Overnight stay in vibrant Busan.
Day 9
Lava Trails, Coastal Light, and Island Calm
A short flight whisks us from Busan to Jeju-do—Korea’s volcanic jewel. With our private driver, we journey across the island, passing through lush landscapes and the foothills of Hallasan National Park. We stop to explore a smaller volcanic cone and walk along the white sands of Hyeopjae Beach, where turquoise waters reveal views of nearby Biyangdo Island. In the south, nature impresses again at the dramatic Jusangjeolli lava cliffs. The day ends in quiet reflection at Yakcheonsa, a seaside temple blessed with a natural spring. Overnight stay on Jeju Island.
Day 10
Sunrise Peaks, Sea Women & Jeju’s Living Landscape
Today we delve into Jeju’s stunning eastern region, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve famed for its unique ecosystems and volcanic landscapes. Begin with a hike up Seongsan Ilchulbong, the “Sunrise Peak,” where panoramic views of the island and sea await. Along the way, meet the Haenyeo, Jeju’s legendary free-diving women, who preserve both heritage and marine life. Savor local treats like omegi-tteok and hallabong juice at a vibrant market before exploring the Manjanggul Lava Cave, one of the world’s longest. Cap off the day with a feast of Jeju’s famous black pig BBQ, followed by a peaceful overnight stay with a sea view near Seogwipo.
Day 11
Modern Seoul Unfolded: Myeong-dong Buzz, Gangnam Glam & Skyline Views
In the morning, we say goodbye to Jeju and return to Seoul. The afternoon is yours to enjoy—whether you dive into the bustling energy of Myeong-dong or browse traditional goods at nearby Namdaemun Market. Want one last taste of Seoul’s sparkle? Head to Gangnam, the city’s trendsetting heart, or toast your journey from the top of Lotte World Tower.
